What even is a Children’s Centre?

Date

What even is a Children’s Centre anyway….?

….is a question I was recently asked by a young mum, while making an outreach phone call.  The question stumped me at first, as I naively thought that everyone knew what a Children’s Centre was.  However, it soon became clear to me that this was not the case, which has prompted me to write this blog.

First of all, I would like to obliterate the myth that a Children’s Centre is a scary place, unwelcoming and dull.  This couldn’t be further from the truth!

We are a setting full to the brim of experienced, friendly, fully trained, professional and non-judgemental staff, with the sole purpose of offering free support and advice to parents/carers such as yourselves and to improve the outcomes for young children, ensuring they are happy and healthy.

Becoming a parent for the first time is exciting, it’s true, but it can also be extremely daunting, and brings with it many challenges…we are here to help ease the burden, working alongside you, allowing you to voice your anxieties, reassure you and give you the confidence and resilience to take up one of, it not the, biggest challenges of your life.

We believe in you.

Heart and soul of the community, we provide a wide range of facilities and fun activities.  We are a safe place for parents and children to come to build social/support networks, build long-term friendships, make happy memories – all the while helping your children to develop their intellectual and social skills while they play and make their own friendships.

There is so much more I could write about these important Centres. However, I am going to end my blog by inviting you to come along, see for yourself and make your own mind up. I promise you won’t regret it.

You can find a session to attend by visiting our What’s On page and book a session online.
