Free Funded Places
Quaggy Development Trust offers government funded places for children across both of our nurseries, Quaggy Children’s Centre and Margaret Bondfield Nursery.
There are now different forms of government funding available to fund some hours at nursery depending on your child’s age, this could be anything from 15 hours per week up to 30 hours per week term time only, from the term after your child turns 9 months old if you are both working.
You may also be eligible to access 15 hours free childcare the term after your child turns 2 years.
You may be eligible to receive funding the term following your child reaching 9 months old up to when they leave nursery provision to go to school.
More information is available on the Childcare Choices website or you can get more information by clicking the links below. Please feel free to ask us for help as we are happy to support and ensure that you are accessing and eligible for the appropriate funding for your child.
Research has shown that good quality early learning and care can expand children’s development especially in communication and language, developing their physical skills and socialising with other children and making friends.
We look forward to helping you and welcoming you to one of our settings.

Together for Twos
Together for Twos – did you know that your two year old could be entitled to 15 hours of free early learning a week?
This could be with a registered childminder or a Children’s Centre, crèche, local nursery or pre-school playgroup. All of these early learning places have qualified staff who are trained to look after children. They are inspected by Ofsted and have been graded by Ofsted as providing good or outstanding learning experiences for children.
Research has shown that good quality early learning and care can expand children’s development especially in communication and language, developing their physical skills and socialising with other children and making friends.
Taking a Together for Twos place also helps families, as you can have time for yourself and take advantage of the activities and courses run at your local Children’s Centre, for example, courses such as preparing to go back to work, finding out more about child development and first aid.
Currently, free early learning places are not available for all families. If you are receiving benefits or on a low income, then you maybe entitled.
To find out more about a Together for Two place come in and visit your nearest GWCC Children’s Centre or click here.
Or you can apply directly online here.
