Quaggy Development Trust

Who we are

Quaggy Community Counselling Service (QCCS) provides low-cost, individual counselling to adults (18 years+) in our local community and across the borough of Greenwich. Fees are means tested, starting at £2 per session for those who are not working. We are a charity committed to supporting the wellbeing of local people and have many years of experience assisting individuals with a wide range of concerns such as:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Low mood
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Work difficulties
  • Low self-esteem
  • Identity issues
  • Bereavement

We offer 12 weeks of counselling in-person at Quaggy Children’s Centre, or Quaggy at Parkside (both situated on Lewisham Road) or online. Our warm and professional team of counsellors are either in the final year of their training or are qualified. All counsellors at the service abide by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework and we are a BACP Accredited service.

We also offer free perinatal counselling for Greenwich residents who are pregnant, their partners or caring for an infant under the age of two years.

What happens next?

We understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting. Once a referral is made—either by yourself or a professional—we will arrange a free initial appointment with a welcoming and experienced counsellor.
This first meeting is a chance to talk about what’s troubling you, answer some questions to help us understand your concerns, and explore how we can best support you. We’ll also discuss session fees, your availability for counselling, and any potential waiting time before being matched with a suitable counsellor.
You are welcome to ask any questions about the service and the counselling process during this appointment.
